PRAYER FOCUS:  GOD, the ALL-POWERFUL CREATOR

“O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth!

You have set Your glory above the heavens.
From the lips of children and infants You have ordained praise
because of Your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.

When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,
the moon and the stars, which You have set in place,
what is man that You are mindful of him,
the Son of man that You care for Him?
You made Him a little lower than the heavenly beings
and crowned Him with glory and honor.

You made Him ruler over the works of Your hands;
You put everything under His feet:
all flocks and herds, and the beasts of the field,
the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea,
all that swim the paths of the seas.

O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth!
Psalm 8

~~~~~~~~
“Do you not know?  Have you not heard?
The LORD is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth?
He will not grow tired or weary,
and His understanding no one can fathom.”
Isaiah 40:28
~~~~~~~~

Read Psalm 148

~~~~~~~~
God, we praise Your name for being the Creator of the universe.  The vastness of Your creation is so very hard to understand; yet You spoke it into existence.  You are awesome and amazing, God; let us continually be amazed by You and take nothing for granted.  Help us to have childlike faith to see You and be in awe of You each and every day.  When we feel small or insignificant, help us to remember that you made us in Your image and that You consider each of us very special to You.  We praise Your Holy Name and thank You, the all-powerful Creator, for loving the world so much.  In Jesus Name, Amen.
PRAYER FOCUS:  JOY IN SERVING
“If you have any encouragement being united with Christ, if any comfort from His love,
if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion,
then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love,
being one in spirit and purpose.
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit,
but in humility consider others better than yourselves.
Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.
Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus.
Who being the very nature of God,
did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,
but made Himself nothing,
taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.
And being found in appearance as a man,
He humbled Himself and became obedient to death–
even death on a cross!
Therefore, God exalted Him to the highest place
and gave Him the name that is above every name,
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.”
Philippians 2:1-11
^^^^^^^^
“I know, my God, that You test the heart and are pleased with integrity.  All these things have I given willingly and with honest intent.  And now I have seen with joy how willingly Your people who are here have given to You.”
1 Chronicles 29:17
^^^^^^^^
“Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men.”
Ephesians 6:7
^^^^^^^
God, how we thank You that You have given us the privilege to serve others, but especially to serve You.  Everything we do, Lord, let us do it only for You joyfully, with ours eyes focused on You, the Author and Perfector of our faith, Who for the joy set before Him endured the cross. You, Jesus, are the perfect Servant showing each of us how to put our agendas aside, and put others needs before our own.  Lord, help us to be totally unselfish in our actions, words, thoughts, and please protect us by placing the full armour of God on each of us each morning so that there is no self-centeredness in us at all.  You, God, are the Joy of our salvation!  In Jesus name, Amen.
PRAYER FOCUS:  Remembering what the LORD has done
“Remember the former things, those of long ago;
I am God, and there is no other;
I am God, and there is none like Me.”
Isaiah 46:9,10
^^^^^^^^
“God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.”
2 Corinthians 5:21
^^^^^^^^
“But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His wounds we are healed.”
Isaiah 53:5
^^^^^^^^
Read Deuteronomy 8
^^^^^^^^
God, we praise You for thinking of each one of us from the beginning.  LORD, You have never forgotten us. You even forgave us, nailed each one of our sins to the cross on which you were crucified, when we didn’t know what we were doing. Please forgive us for being so self-centered and so easily forgetting You; for becoming so self-absorbed in our daily lives – our busyness – for being so arrogant to think that we do not need You.  God, forgive us.  Help us to breathe You in and with every breath to remember You and the sacrifice that You made for each one of us.  LORD, we love You so much and are so thankful that You are with us now and forever.  In Jesus name,  Amen.
PRAYER FOCUS: Trusting in God
“Hear, O LORD, and answer me, for I am poor and needy,
Guard my life, for I am devoted to You.
You are my God; save your servant who trusts in You.
Have mercy on me, O LORD, for I call to You all day long.
Bring joy to your servant, for to You, O LORD, I lift up my soul.
You are forgiving and good, O LORD, abounding in love to all who call to You.
Hear my prayer, O LORD, listen to my cry for mercy.
In the day of my trouble I will call to You, for You will answer me.
Among the gods there is none like You, O LORD; no deeds can compare with Yours.
All the nations You have made will come and worship before You, O LORD:
They will bring glory to Your name.
For You are great and do marvelous deeds; You alone are God.
Teach me Your way, O LORD, and I will walk in Your truth;
Give me an undivided heart, that I may fear Your name.
I will praise You, O LORD my God, with all my heart;
I will glorify Your name forever.
For great is Your love toward me;
You have delivered me from the depth of the grave.
The arrogant are attacking me, O God;
a band of ruthless men seeks my life–men without regard for You.
But You, O LORD, are a compassionate and gracious God,
Slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.
Turn to me and have mercy on me,
Grant Your strength to Your servant and save the son of Your maid servant.
Give me a sign of Your goodness,
that my enemies may see it and be put to shame,
For You, O LORD, have helped and comforted me.
Psalm 86:1-17
^^^^^^^^
Lord, help us to trust You to push back our fear; for fear is False Evidence Appearing Real and that is not of You but of the enemy. We know that in repentance and rest is Your salvation, that in quietness and trust is Your strength. Thank You for Your strength to help us take each step we take daily.
PRAYER FOCUS:  God is our Help for today and our Hope for tomorrow!
“The LORD is my Light and my Salvation–whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the Stronghold of my life;  of whom shall I be afraid?
When evil men advance against me to devour my flesh,
when my enemies and my foes attack me, they will stumble and fall.
Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear;
though war break out against me, even then will I be confident.
One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek;
that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek Him in His temple.
For in the day of trouble He will keep me safe in His dwelling;
He will hide me in the shelter of His tabernacle and set me high upon a rock.
Then my head will be exalted above the enemies who surround me;
at His tabernacle will I sacrifice with shouts of joy; I will sing and make music to the LORD.
Hear my voice when I call, O LORD; be merciful to me and answer me.
My heart says of you, “Seek His face!”  Your face, LORD, I will seek.
Do not hide your face from me, do not turn your servant away in anger;
You have been my Helper.
Do not reject me or forsake me, O God my Savior.
Though my father and mother forsake me, the LORD will receive me.
Teach me your way, O LORD; lead me in a straight path because of my oppressors.
Do not turn me over to the desire of my foes, for false witnesses rise up against me,
breathing out violence.
I am still confident of this:
I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.
Psalm 27:1-14
^^^^^^^^
God, thank You that we have nothing to fear, that You are our Light and Salvation; that only by You being with us can we get rid of the darkness in our lives.  Lord, we also know how hard it is to wait – we want an answer right now, our “problem” fixed” yesterday.  God help us to find joy in how you’re refining us as we wait upon You.  And thank You that through our trials,You are always changing us to be more Christ-like.
Prayer Focus:      FAITH
“WHAT IS FAITH?  It is the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen.  It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though we cannot see it up ahead.”
Hebrews 11:1
(The Living Bible)
********
“Because of His kindness you have been saved through trusting Christ.  And even trusting  is not of yourselves;
it too is a gift from God.  Salvation is not a reward for the good we have done, so none of us can take any credit for it.  It is God Himself who has made us what we are and given us new lives from Christ Jesus; and long ages ago He planned that we should spend these lives helping others.”
Ephesians 2:8-10
(The Living Bible)
*********
“And now just as you trusted Christ to save you, trust Him, too, for each day’s problems; live in vital union with Him.  Let your roots grow down into Him and draw nourishment from Him. See that you go on growing in the Lord, and become strong and vigorous in the truth you were taught.  Let your lives overflow with joy and thanksgiving for all He has done.”
Colossians 2:6-7
(The Living Bible)
********
“All these many people who have faith in God are around us like a cloud.  Let us put everything out of our lives that keeps us from doing what we should.  Let us keep running in the race that God has planned for us.  Let us keep looking to Jesus.  Our faith comes from Him and He is the One Who makes it perfect.  He did not give up when He had to suffer shame and die on a cross.  He knew of the joy that would be His later.  Now He is sitting at the right side of God.”
Hebrews 12:1-2
“Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.”
Deuteronomy 11:18
********
“Thy Word I have treasured in my heart, that I might not sin against thee.”
Psalm 119:11
“Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me.  He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him.”
John 14:21
********
“All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
2 Timothy 3:16,17
********
“And we also thank God continually because, when you received the Word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but as it actually is, the Word of God, which is at work in you who believe.”
1 Thessalonians 2:13
********
God, we thank You  for the Bible, Your inspired Word, the living Truth, our life Guide,  that You gave to us.  When we take time to read Your Word, we learn of the faith that so many people had as they walked their life – Abraham, Noah, Job, Moses, Rahab, Mary, and many others. Thank You for the examples of their faith walk with You using imperfect people to accomplish Your purposes.  God, help us to have that kind of faith and help us to keep reading and learning Your Word – to hide it in our hearts so that we won’t sin against You. Please continue to teach us how to live Your Word.   We’re overwhelmed by Your love for us – Your love for the whole world!  Thank You, Jesus!
PRAYER FOCUS:  The WORD of God
“Your Word is a lamp to my feet
and a light for my path.”
Psalm 119:105
********
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
John 1:1
********
“Do not merely listen to the Word, and so deceive yourselves.  Do what is says.  Anyone who listens to the Word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.  But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it — he will be blessed in what he does.”
James 1:22-25
*********
God, thank You for Jesus, the “visible expression of Your thoughts.”  Thank You, God, that Jesus is the Word of Truth and Your Word alone is all we ever need. Help us to recognize  You, Jesus, to see You when so many times, like the Samaritan woman, we are looking at the outward appearance expecting someone different or we are so distracted with everyday life that we miss You being where we are.  Help us to be obedient to Your Word and not just give lip service; to walk the walk as well as we talk the talk.  Jesus, You are the perfect example of obedience.  Thank you, God, for sending Your one and only Son.  Thank You, Jesus, that You are always with us and will never leave us.
